Lib4RI is expanding its research data management services under the swissuniversities Open Science Programme. We are looking for a Data Steward/Data Manager (80-100%, m/f/d) with strong IT skills and a background in research data management. Interested? Come join our team!

Negotiations for a new Swiss agreement with the academic publisher Wiley were discontinued on 31 March. As a consequence, Wiley has blocked access to 2025 journal issues, and researchers in Switzerland can no longer publish Open Access within the read & publish agreement. Please find some background information as well as recommended actions for the researchers of the 4RIs below.

Green, Gold, now Diamond - the evolution of Open Access publishing. Diamond Open Access is a model of scholarly publication that charges no fees to authors, readers, or their institutions. Diamond Open Access journals are owned and controlled by the scholarly communities.

In 2025, Lib4RI contributed five online coffee lectures to the Swiss schedule of the Love Data week. Our focal topic was tools which support you in organizing, analysing and publishing your data in a clean and reproducible manner. Recordings are available now.

Please join out 1h researchers’ masterclass webinar on our newly subscribed AI research assistant and citation database scite.ai. The AI assistant provides GPT responses based on full-text scientific publications and provides the relevant citations.

We are delighted to share the latest developments in our product portfolio for 2025. Based on comprehensive data analysis and evaluation of research needs, we have adjusted our subscriptions to ensure optimal access to essential resources and publishing opportunities for researchers at the 4RIs. Negotiations with Wiley continue at a national level.
