New Read & Publish Agreement with Wiley Entitles Authors to Publish Open Access Free of Charge

Scientists of Eawag, Empa, PSI & WSL can now publish Open Access articles free of charge in most of Wiley’s subscription journals. The option to publish Open Access applies to all research and review articles accepted for publication on or after May 1, 2021. The prerequisite for this is an affiliation of the corresponding author with Eawag, Empa, PSI or WSL.

While the negotiations with Wiley did not result in an agreement for Switzerland last year , a delegation of swissuniversities could now successfully conclude the negotiations and reach a Read & Publish agreement with Wiley (see swissuniversities press release). After the conclusion of Read & Publish agreements with the academic publishers Elsevier and SpringerNature last year, the new deal with Wiley is another important step in the implementation of the national Open Access strategy.
