Functional Ecology, Learned Publishing and Financial Planning Review will become fully Open Access in January 2025. This already has consequences for authors submitting in summer 2024.
All articles submitted to the journals after the date of conversion will no longer be covered by our Read & Publish Agreement, meaning that you will be asked to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). Up-to-date information on all conversion dates of Wiley's journal titles can be found on their homepage.
The conversion date for Functional Ecology has already been set to 16 July 2024 and the APC will be $2,900. This unfortunately exceeds the maximum that can be covered through the Lib4RI Open Access Fund (CHF 2,500). Please note that the British Ecological Society waives APCs for authors with no external funding. We recommend applying for the discretionary waiver on submission.
